After the sun, the rains. One day after my last and quite different weather.
With a bride and groom who didn’t care. Suzanne and Wayne. What a couple…..
And so we begin, at Wasing Park, just 8 miles from my home. The Honeymoon suite, home to the biggest bed in Berkshire (if not the UK), and home today to Suzanne and her seven bridesmaids (two of them expecting, so congratulations!). A room full of activity and the excellent Kristina Gasperas and her K-Team on make-up and hair. Wayne and his groomsmen close by finishing up the venue and awaiting a beautiful ceremony. An excellent video team from A Hint of Mint working alongside me. A huge thank-you to Gemma from Galloping Gourmet for her help throughout the day.
Skies that cleared just enough for Suzanne to be able to walk down. Hearts that soared as she walked in towards Wayne. Intakes of breath as people saw just how she looked. Stunning doesn’t quite describe it. A smile the size of Berkshire. Smiles, tears, laughter, love. The things that matter.
A reception dodging clouds but giving us enough to be outside for the bits we needed. And let me say this…a couple who see the weather and decide that it just doesn’t matter make days like this the sunniest ones. Not precious about a dress getting a bit wet. Not worried that their day might be affected, because it really doesn’t matter. They absolutely nailed this. I could have hugged them. Speeches right from the top drawer. And then, 15 minutes of dry skies to allow Suzanne and Wayne outside shots of them both. Perfect timing for a perfect couple. They deserved this.
So let’s talk about them.
Wayne. A dude. Simple as that. Tall, sharp, warm, funny. Doesn’t take himself too seriously. You can’t help but like him. I know I do.
Suzanne. Beautiful. Simple as that. Always, always, smiling. Incredible eyes. Masses of fun. I keep seeing the way she looked at Wayne. They are just meant to be together. It’s just right.
After the rains, the sun. A metaphorical one. Sun that shone on these two. Sun that brought everyone together as they committed to a life together. I don’t think it’ll stop shining on them.
Thank you both so much. This is your day….
