Boom. Roisin and Moubin, Day Two. Hotter. Dancier. Equally awesome.
After the splendour of Day One here we all were again, just 8 hours later. The same people and the same place, and a very different day to unfold before us. You know the cast for this wedding now. A collection of very special individuals who witnessed a very special couple over two very special days. Once again Villa Mangiacane looked nothing less sublime in the fierce Tuscan sun. If yesterday had it’s foundations on Roisin’s side, today wore Moubin’s heart on it’s sleeve. A riot of colour and music. Dancing in the midday heat. The most perfect evening and a second set of quite wonderful speeches as the sun set behind us.
Alongside me again were my ace colleagues for the weekend – Louise and Natalie from Louise Perry Weddings. Ollie from Storybook Films. Cat and Jo on make-up and hair. Once again huge thanks to all. A pleasure and an honour to work with you. You are all absolute stars in your fields.
And to Roisin and Moubin. My word you two know how to throw a party, and to do so with the most open of arms. Your stamina and determination to have the weekend of your dreams was obvious, and you nailed it. Your love for each other burns so hard, summed up in the elegance and passion in Roisin’s closing speech.
This day ended as it began. With love front and centre. Your life together begins now. I have a feeling it’s going to be a hell of a ride. My heartfelt thanks to you for having me there with you for what was a weekend to savour and treasure. Yesterday reminded me of a Larkin line. Today falls to Douglas Coupland:
“I saw doves and I thought they were rocks, but they were asleep. My breath made them stir, and they rocks took flight, the earth exploding… and my only thought was that I wanted you to see them, too.”
Day two then. Once more that’s enough talking. It’s again time to see…..
