Well hello London. You sure looked amazing today. Step forward Caroline and Adrian, and one incredible wedding to be a part of, and quite the story to tell.
We begin on a very warm morning at the Canary Wharf Riverside Plaza hotel. Both Caroline and Adrian were getting ready here, exactly one floor apart. Huge thanks to all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen right off the bat – Amelia, Kate, Gemma, Katie, David, Luke, Patrick, Matt. You were all brilliant and it was great meeting everyone from the various parts of the world you’d travelled from!
This was a truly international wedding. Adrian is Australian, via Uruguay. Caroline is English but they now both live together in Seattle. Guests had flown in from pretty much every corner of the globe. It was immediately obvious that this is a couple who are widely loved. With everyone ready it was over to one of my very favourite venues, Trinity Buoy Wharf, just opposite from the O2 Dome across the Thames. Big thanks here to Sarah and the team at Trinity Buoy for excellent planning and execution on what was a damn hot and sunny day. So much sun.
Caroline and Adrian had actually married two years ago to the day in a proper Las Vegas ceremony but had always planned on a global gathering two years later. Nothing about this date was an accident. Because of the distances being covered it needed two years to get everyone there. So today was a beautifully personal ceremony delivered by a close friend. Note perfect is how I’d describe it. This flowed into a long, lazy afternoon ceremony which in turn gave us some truly moving speeches. I’m here to tell you that The Chainstore was brim full of love for family and friends. Tears were shed, and then some.
I loved being part of this day. Caroline and Adrian make some couple, and they’ve got one hell of a life ahead of them. They are classy, refined and elegant. They ooze warmth and charisma. They absolutely fly when they’re together.
London you spoiled us. Caroline and Adrian even more so. Thank you for the privilege of being there with you. This is your story…
