Holy smokes and mind blown.
Jayme and David. Just a massive ‘bloody hell’ from me. What a wedding, what a day and what a couple.
A day that started at the stunning Farm House in Catherington and from the moment Jayme greeted me with a huge hug I knew what an absolute smasher we were in for. Walking in to see a house full of Grade A bridesmaids and one very familiar one in Amanda who had been at bridesmaid at Hollie and David’s in February earlier this year. It truly is a small world. A massive thank you to all of the bridesmaids here. Brilliant fun, huge smiles and there to party from the off. That is how you do it.
On to East Meon for the ceremony. David and his groomsmens readying themselves under ever-darkening skies. Oh the skies, oh the weather. It played a significant part today. The most perfect blue sky replaced by torrential rains just seconds later. It was really quite bizarre. But it’s a measure of Jayme and David that instead of any diva-meltdowns (which is most definitely not their style) they just rolled with it, literally picked up skirts and just smashed the entire thing out of the park, over the city beyond and into the next country. A massive thank you here to Jane, the Vicar at All Saints for being really bloody funny and giving a genuinely lovely service.
So an exit to the wettest confetti shot I’ve yet done and a group of guests who didn’t care and nailed it anyway, led us all to the always lovely Tithe Barn at Ditcham, a venue I know well and which never disappoints. It always, always, always gets couples who are brilliant. Like Jayme and David today. Yes it rained. Did it matter? Nope. It rarely actually does because people aren’t together for the weather. And this group of people, all 160 or so of them, showed the fiercest love and friendship for the couple at the centre of it. Superb speeches. Laughter and tears. Food and drink by the incredible Jacaranda, with JJ and his team (and a surprise appearance by Tori who I hadn’t seen for ages since she left them to go travelling – bonus hugs!). A blinding musical set from Al, Chris, Rob, Holly and Jason from Rollercoaster, with Jayme and David totally killing their first dance.
What a day we had. With a wedding like this how could we not. All the elements were there, and the people brought them all together. People there for one reason.
Jayme and David.
Jayme. A genuine beauty. Elegant and in the perfect dress. Bright, quick-witted and the perfect foil for David, who in turn radiates warmth and humour. They are both incredibly popular people and it’s very easy to see why.
I’m just really bloody happy they booked me so that I got to meet and know them, and to shoot what was pretty much the perfect wedding.
I can’t recall who these words come from, but they fit here:
‘I would never re-write you. You are by far my most complete and greatest novel. You and your splendour; lingering in my brain across a timeless barefoot reality’
Yes, those words fit Jayme and David.
Thank you both. And this is your story…..
