‘Cause holy cow, I love your eyes
And only now I see the light…..’
Holy. Cow. I thought Rebecca and Dom’s wedding at The Clock Barn might be special. That word now seems utterly inadequate. It was simply off the scale.
Back story. Rebecca is great friends with Steph. I shot Steph and Chris’s wedding back in 2011. It was an amazing day. Rebecca and Steph are great friends with Georgina. I shot Georgina and Carl’s wedding last year. That was also an amazing day. Katy is great friends with Steph and Rebecca. She’s also one of the best make-up artists I’ve worked with, and did both Rebecca and Stephs’ make-up. So put together a wedding with all of these people and you see why I was rather excited about this one….
Like I say, that doesn’t begin to describe the reality. So, let me try to do just that.
Clock Barn is local to me, just 7 miles away, so prep at the equally local Norton Park saw the door open to a BEAMING Rebecca. That was pretty much her default expression for the day. A bloody brilliant group of bridesmaids. Thank you all for the swears and laughs. Much japes. A sprint over to Clock Barn and here I must thank both Sarah and Cat from the ever-superb Galloping Gourmet for simply being very, very good at their jobs and being an absolute pleasure to work with again. See you again in November!
A ceremony just bursting with emotion and Dom looking at Rebecca like he was the luckiest man on earth. Some damn fine light in there as well. Always a bonus. Incredible sun outside again made for a long, lazy reception and then speeches from the top drawer. Gorgeous evening light. A gorgeous first dance.
And a truly gorgeous couple.
Dom. A total dude without even trying. Classy, softly-spoken, wicked sense of humour. Sharp, both of mind and dress-sense.
Rebecca. A complete force of nature. Utterly stunning eyes, Utterly stunning smile. Ferociously funny.
In case you can’t tell, I really like them. The reasons are many. For their warmth. For their intense love for one another. For their attitude to life. For allowing me in to be there with them.
You absolute smashers. This is your day….
