First of the year at my ‘local’, The Barn at Bury Court, And what a smasher with Heather and Chris. You might recognise them from their pre-wedding shoot.
What. A. Day.
A really local start for me at Heather’s parents’ house the other side of Basingstoke. A house full of bridesmaids (and a quick note to Jo, Hannah, Frances, Laura and Helen – you were epic. All day long, #badpout notwithstanding). An incredibly relaxed house full of laughter and the day to come. A day full of promise that was more than matched by the reality. A short hop over to Bentley and St. Mary’s Church, home to the Best Vicar in The World ™, Jan. If Carlsberg made Vicars……funny, relaxed, warm, a genuine friend to us wedding photographers. I smile every time I see him. An immense ceremony with Heather just beaming from start to finish. Chris looking proud as the proverbial punch. And rightly so.
An even shorter hop down the lanes to Bury Court and the marvellous Tori from Jacaranda running the day. Wonderful, wonderful food as ever. Thank you all. Flowers by the terrific Jay Archer who I’ll be working with again in May. Going well beyond what was required by warming hands as we waited outside the church. Thank you also. Slight rain intervals didn’t stop play. Heather and Chris melting into each other and surrounded by an amazing bunch of people. The enjoyment of the day was so, so obvious from all. Some damn fine speeches. An absolutely monster first (and second) dance). Job. Done.
The day belonged to two people. Heather and Chris. You couldn’t find two people more made for each other if you searched from today until the end of 2015. They just fit. Eyes burning into each with the promise of a life together. One I feel will be more than matched by the reality. Thank you both.
