Oh My WORD. Claire and Tom.
Not just off the scale, but beyond any known scales. Or, the tale of how a wet Saturday in Surrey became a demonstration of love and laughter.
So, let me begin at the beginning or, more accurately, at the lovely Broadway Villa in Ripley. Claire and her girls right in amongst it and immediate banter. Tom and his chaps just over the road at The Anchor. A common theme already apparent – that of one hell of a day taking shape. Just a short drive over to All Saints’ in Ockham, and the delightfully easy-going Hugh overseeing the wedding itself. Another short drive to a gorgeous private house close to the church. I’ll ignore the rain. We had rather a lot. We also had a bride and groom who didn’t care and just hit it hard. These are the weddings you look back at and think ‘Yep, they just got it’. And then some….
Here would be a good time to thank those alongside me. The phrase ‘Dream Team’ spring to mind. So in turn…….
Katrina Otter Weddings – the lady responsible for planning this day, and for nailing every aspect of it. With her assistant Kate alongside, an absolute pleasure to work with.
To Emma and her team at Miss Bush Bridal. Always, always the right dress for every bride they fit. Today’s was something very special from Jesus Peiro – I believe Claire was the first bride to wear this dress anywhere in the world. Hell yes.
Flowers. Jay Archer once again absolutely nailing it from start to finish. The photographs will show you what I mean…..stunning.
Incredible food and drink from the geniuses at Two Many Cooks. Just too good.
Hair by the superb Kasia Fortuna – every girl looking incredible.
Viedography by the lovely Tegan and Jordan from Roost Film Company.
And of course to Claire and Tom. Aka The Reason We Were All There.
What a couple. Watching them together all day was a privilege. Bouncing off one another. Melting into each other. A life shared becoming a marriage to be shared.
Rarely do you get a couple who work this well together. You could look at a wedding like this and see that it has it all. All the boxes are ticked. Beautiful bride. Dapper groom. Brilliant friends and family. Cracking venues. Superb suppliers.
It’s so much more than that. You could have all of those things and it could still fail to spark. Not today though. Not even close. And that’s because of Claire and Tom.
They just killed it. And I was lucky enough to photograph what happened.
This, then, is their story…..
