So here we go, back to the searing heat of August, the second wedding of this weekend and a large slice of Stowe House wedding photography – Hayley + Alex step forward, you absolutely killed it and this is a day that will live long in the memories of everyone there. Hell yes.
We’d met up for a pre-wedding shoot a few weeks earlier and I knew then we’d have a good one. They’re incredibly easy company, warm and great fun to be around. A quite incredible wedding day was planned at the jaw-droppingly beautiful 18th century Stowe School, and the results below show you just how much went into it. Every detail mattered, and every detail was utterly nailed. This is no small feat. Also, Ferraris!
I need to get in a nod to the outstanding excellence of my fellow suppliers – dress by Suzanne Neville at The Bride Boutique, suits by Impeccable Suits, flowers by Simon Nickell Design, hair and make-up by Vicky Brown, food from The Wild Fork, tables by Duchess & Butler. Just incredible work by all of you.
The day began at Hayley and Alex’s lovely home in Eaton Bray with a warm welcome to match the weather outside. The usual morning mayhem and then the elegance of the finish. Hayley looked 10 million dollars and with that we were off to Stowe. Alex waiting, guests filling the halls. Family and friends greeting each other. Drinks flowing, followed by Alex’s tears in the ceremony. I’ve said it before and it’s still always true – real men shed tears. Golf buggies for driving around the grounds and massive kudos to Hayley and Alex for dealing with the 32c heat so well during the couple photos. Back to the house for some cool respite and a wonderful meal followed by superb speeches. Into the brilliant evening party and a dancefloor absolutely filled. The best, the absolute best, of days.
It is truly a job to treasure. To spend days with people like this, at places like this. To be trusted to capture these one-off events, and know that a couple like Hayley and Alex just let you do what you do. As a couple they’re something very special. Eyes and hands constantly seeking one another out. They’ve already built a wonderful life together and support each other in all they do. They’re very much my kind of people.
Thank you both, thank you all. Today was off the scale….
