An absolute smasher. That’s what we had last weekend. And it’s easy to pinpoint why – Kerry and Craig. More about them a little later.
Burley. The New Forest. Sopley Mill. Rain. Sun. Warmth. Themes of the day. Themes that came together to make one unforgettable whole. A whole that starts in Burley and a house full of laughter with Kerry, Becki, Sam and Charlotte. A massive thank you to those bridesmaids right now. A massive laugh from start to finish. I’m still laughing at cake-gate…..also a special mention to Becki’s other half, John, both for his sense of humour and his world-class hairdryer action.
From Burley to Sopley Mill and the rains came down. No matter. Craig was there, looking damn sharp, along with his groomsmen. A real buzz as the room waited for Kerry. Then sharp intakes of breath (and a few tears from Craig) as she arrived. This was one stunning bride, but you don’t need me to tell you that. Just look. A genuine beauty. People stress about rain at weddings. There’s no point. It happens and you can’t ask for more than a couple like Kerry and Craig to just not care. The guests followed that lead. It just doesn’t matter.
It doesn’t matter when you get an evening like we had. Clouds broke, and the sun shone hard. That lazy, soft evening sun that makes photographers high-five the planet. Add in some fast-drying water meadows and you’ve got all the ingredients you need. But you need a couple who shine on camera.
I had one.
Craig. You can’t fail to warm to him. Funny, generous, sharp and witty. A man who showed his true colours early in their relationship and who nailed those colours to the mast. Respect is due for what you did.
Kerry. Jaw-droppingly good looking. Brilliant sense of humour. Smiled from start to finish. The dictionary definition of a non-Bridezilla.
I can’t thank you enough. I loved every minute and this is your day…..
Wow, kudos to you Guy! I actually felt like I was there and I have just been immersed in this blog post. The files you get from that camera sensor are just jaw dropping. I don’t need to tell you how much I love your style and composition because that has always been the case. Looks like you are shooting a lot with a 24/35 combo? Either way, you hit it big time with this wedding. Love, love, LOVE this! \o/
What lovely photos guy! Captured the great day we had!
