And so to Dorset for some Pennsylvania Castle wedding photography - Marie + Oliver at a venue that could have been straight out go a 60's Italian film, and with the weather to go with it. Ready to see more?
I originally met Marie + Oliver at when I shot Marie's brother's wedding in 2019. Alice + Rob were of course here today, along with a new member of their family, always such a joy to see. We chatted on that day but I was booked for their original wedding date in September 2020. I found them someone great and thought that was it. The world had other ideas of course, and Oliver emailed me some months later to tell me the photographer I'd helped find wasn't now free for this revised date, and serendipity rolled by meaning I was now free. Some things are meant to be I think.
So, a day after a wedding in Farnham, I was out of the door early to make my way down to Portland, and the promise of perfect weather to come. A warm welcome from Tessa and her team gave way to jaws on the floor as the venue revealed itself. It really is quite some place, with a view to die for. Read down to see what I mean....
Marie and her bridesmaids were busy getting ready, and Marie looked incredible in her dress. Talk about effortless elegance. That weather allowed the outdoor ceremony we'd all hoped for (always something of a gamble in England though), and Oliver couldn't quite believe how lucky he was as Marie walked down towards him. That really was the theme of today. Two people who knew how lucky they are to have found each other, throwing a super party for the people they love the most. To be able to finally be there after the various curveballs that this pandemic has thrown us was note perfect. It's also a venue I'd love to work at again, and to be able to show some more Pennsylvania Castle wedding photography.
Time to let my photography do a much better job than my writing I think.....Marie, Oliver, thank you both so much for choosing me. It was a blast....
