Awesome couple klaxon. Oh yes. Step forward Sarah and Stephen and a day of love.
Sarah I met last year when she was bridesmaid at the equally awesome Rebecca and Dom‘s wedding in Hampshire. When she got in touch soon after her engagement it was an immediate ‘YES’ from me as well and a wedding that I’d been looking forward to since. With good reason as well…..hell of a couple and a hell of a day. This really had it all.
So we begin in Enfield, at Sarah’s sister’s rather lovely house. A door opened and a beaming, and VERY pregnant Rebecca stood waiting with arms open. A large hug was given. That set the scene for the day really. The warmest of welcomes and the best people. Sarah already looking elegant. And then the dress went on. Jaws on the floor everywhere……
A walk round the corner to the church and a super friendly vicar. Oh, and a church that actually had light falling onto the faces of Sarah and Stephen. Winning! Stephen’s face when he sees Sarah. Also winning!
Next up the lovely Offley Place, our destination for the rest of the day. A lazy afternoon reception out on the lawns folded into the meal and speeches in a room with some genuinely lovely light. Back outside for Sarah and Stephen’s couple session and ALL THE LAUGHS. They’ll know what I mean here. And amidst the laughs, moments of real tenderness between them. Sarah, by her own admission, wasn’t looking forward to this bit (not uncommon). I asked them both to trust me and go with my suggestions. They did, and absolutely nailed it. I know it’s not easy to just let go in front of a camera, so when couples do that and really let me in it’s a huge measure of mutual respect and trust. Thank you both.
I’m not sure Sarah realises how elegant she is. Or how funny. Or how down to earth.
The same goes for Stephen and his superb sense of humour and all-round warmth.
Together they’re a quite incredible couple. Throw in a brilliant group of friends and seeing people like Rebecca and Dom again and this truly was a day to savour. I bloody loved it, and I bloody love Sarah and Stephen.
And I bloody love this job.
Raymond Carver once wrote:
“Happiness. It comes on unexpectedly. And goes beyond, really, any early morning talk about it.”
Sarah. Stephen. You exude happiness. And you rock, and this is your story…..
