So here we are. Late September and those autumn colours are back in a big way. Northbrook Park looked as good as ever for the brilliant Nat and Andy. All the way from their home in Oz, today was an Anglo-Scottish union and ALL OF THE FUN.
So let’s begin. A stunning venue. Rain that held off when it mattered. A dream team of fellow suppliers with superb make-up from Arabella Hewitt, incredible flowers from Hazel and her awesome team at Eden Blooms, and wonderful catering from Tapenade. Huge thanks to all for being so damned good at what they do. Massive thanks also to Nat’s bridesmaids – Katie, Katie and Klara – and to Andy’s groomsmen – Marc, Peter, Luke and Russell. Huge fun and on it from the word go.
A truly lovely ceremony, and a reading from Andy’s sister that brought tears to every eye in the room, mine included. A confetti run that would have done Usain Bolt proud. Guests who knew how to party and were nothing but warm and welcoming. Moody skies and those autumnal colours. Bagpipes. Cocktails. Brilliant speeches and a moment that pretty much broke me – Nat’s Dad singing to her as part of his speech. All. The. Feels. Literally every one.
Nat and Andy. Of course Nat and Andy.
A couple I met last year and who I warmed to from the off. Incredibly warm and good-humoured. Another couple who just trusted me to do what I do, and who absolutely killed it when I needed them to. Nat looked beyond stunning, with an effortless elegance. Andy rocking a kilt hard. Together, a sense of permanence and the deepest of bonds. The truest of true love.
This truly is the job of kings you know. Over 450 weddings in and I still love every day where I’m invited in to these most special of moments. Couples like Nat and Andy are why, and then some.
Thank you both so much. Enjoy the warmth now you’re back down under and this is your story…..
