One very special day with a big slice of Northbrook Park wedding photography – Katrina + Michael spent an entire day smashing it out of the park. Smiley couple klaxon!
The weddings are coming thick and fast now. We’re into peak season now, and with Katrina and Michael peak excellence was achieved.
From the start at Katrina’s Mum’s house where a room full of bridesmaids, an enormous Steiff bear, a great make-up artist in the shape of Kristina Gasperas and an extremely happy Katrina were hard at it, to the rain-dodging antics at the church where the heavens properly opened for a solid hour, to the stunning reception at Northbrook House. This wedding had it all. 150 guests. Winnie-the-Pooh. Peacocks. Another enormous bear in the shape of Aleksandr the Meerkat. Cheese. Gin (all the gin!). The brilliant Nigel and his team at Jacaranda (thank you, as always!). Dry weather for the rest of the day. Endless food and wine. Music. Laughter. Dancing. The. Lot.
And front and centre it had Katrina and Michael. 2 very, very special people who were born to meet and be together. They just fit. I knew it when we first met many months ago and I saw it all day here.
Michael simply doesn’t stop smiling. Genuine excitement at the thought of a life with the woman beside him. Fiercely bright. Thoughtful. Gentle. Loved.
Katrina matches him step for step. Eyes to die for and an effortless beauty. No bridezilla this. Marriage without dramas. Just like it should be. A girl made for Michael.
I spent this day watching love unfolding before me, with a couple who asked me to be there with them. I spent this day grateful that they did because to be there was to see what it means to find your soulmate. And as I watched I was reminded of Pablo Neruda:
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
Katrina and Michael. The world is yours together. Go and grab it.
This is your story. Thank you both so much.
