Autumn. I love it. I always have. I love it even more now I’m a wedding photographer. It offers so much. Cooler. Sublime light. The most incredible colours, this year seemingly better than ever. Autumn weddings at a venue like Millbridge Court ticks all the boxes. Especially when you’re working with a dream team of suppliers. Aside from the brilliant Abi and Elly at Millbridge I was alongside people right from the top drawer. People like Jay Archer on flowers, and Laura and Lara from the absolutely sublime Kalm Kitchen. It is an absolute joy to work alongside them, always. Thank you all.
We were all there because of Clare and Ian. A couple who I clicked with the moment we skyped late last year. Who I clicked with even more when I met them for a pre-wedding shoot in London a few weeks ahead of the wedding. Both lawyers, both damn good fun, both born to be with each other.
Also leaves. All. The. Leaves. Clare’s original enquiry said ‘As many autumn leaves as we can possibly fit inside the venue….’. Together with Jay this was made very much a reality. Autumn came indoors with us and the design was pure class. It’s always good to watch a vision come to fruition and Jay executed this one so perfectly. The day looked exactly as I imagined.
Clare and Ian then. One hell of a couple. Some serious intelligence runs through this relationship, but it’s absolutely underpinned by incredible senses of humour and a refusal to take themselves too seriously. I just loved them, and loved being here with them. Someone once said ‘Love is being stupid together’. I think that’s true. I think that defines Clare and Ian.
This, then, is their story…..
