Settle in for some glorious Merriscourt wedding photography – Abi + Jonny’s wonderful summer wedding and another one for me with a very, very special group of friends who I have had the honour of photographing three couples, with another to come next year. Pinch me.

I first met Abi when I photographed Lydia + Jonny’s wedding in Somerset in 2019 and she was a bridesmaid (a favour returned by Lydia today), and then again when I photographed Chloe + Ed’s in 2023 (Chloe is Lydia’s sister) – so when she got in touch to see if I was free for her wedding at this gorgeous Cotswolds wedding venue it took me about 1 second to check and say yes. I adore this group of people (and will be lucky enough to photograph Kelli + Ethan’s next year) and it was also great to meet Sarah + Matt in person (another couple in this group whose wedding I was sadly unable to do last year!). My drive up was through heavy rain, but it stopped as I arrived and gave us the most perfect soft light, and a merciful break from the intense heat of June and early July this year. This was my first time at Merriscourt, and it’s a fabulous venue with so many options for a wedding photographer, and run by a great team. I hope to photograph here again soon.

The day was perfect – that mix of love, party and emotion. A fantastic blend of family and friends. A special venue. Great food and music. All the boxes ticked, and right at the centre a couple who come alive around each other and who are surely set for a fantastic life together. Inject these days into my veins. My drive home across the gorgeous Cotswolds countryside was filled with memories and these three couples who have trusted me with their days, each one of them unique, full of love and joy and a feeling that this truly is the job of kings.
