You bloody smashers. That’s Hollie and David, last week at Langshott Manor, a little corner of luxury in Surrey.
My kind of people, my kind of wedding. So some thanks need to be given.
To Hollie’s girls – Danielle, Amanda and Amy. From the moment I arrived I knew I was in for a cracking day. Bathtubs. Photographers sitting on toilets. Macaroons. And a whole lot of laughs. Thank you.
To David’s chaps – Matt, Chris and Dean. If Carlsberg did groomsmen. You made me feel like part of the team and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you.
Thank you all. You absolutely nailed it.
Thanks to Travis and his team at the hotel. Always greets me with a huge smile, does his job bloody well and just a pleasure to work with.
What with it being a winter wedding of course we had some rain. Didn’t matter. Never does really. It’s just part of the day and couples like Hollie and David just get what a wedding is. And it’s not just a sunny day. It’s people that matter to each other all celebrating a new life together. Every person there helped make the day an absolute joy to be part of. I genuinely think this is one of the best jobs in the world. I realise how lucky I am to have found it.
Hollie. Talk about a non-Bridezilla. The perfect bride? Quite probably. Just the centre of a joyful day and clearly adores David. And he adores her just as much.
David. Damn dapper. Funny, warm and utterly devoted to his Hollie.
You might guess that I liked them a lot. It matters. Find couples that get you, that get what you do and how you work, and just allow you to melt into the day, and the job becomes a thousand percent easier, and a whole lot more fun. I’m lucky. I get these couples week in and week out. We find each other. We chat. We have a lot of fun. And I drove home with a big smile on my face because of them and their day.
Hollie walked into this song:
Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
Now I don’t know where I am
I don’t know where I’ve been
But I know where I want to go
Nailed it folks, absolutely nailed it….
