Where on earth do I begin with this one. Where do I start with Claire and Ewan and their absolutely magnificent day at the stunning Kingscote Barn deep in the Cotswolds. So much to tell, and even more to show. So, let me try….
I’d first met Claire back in 2014 when she was bridesmaid at Kay and Nick’s wedding. That was a brilliant day, and when Claire got in touch about her own wedding I kept everything crossed that I’d be there. In the time between now and then she’s become a full-time photographer herself, so there was a lovely symmetry to this on more than one level. So we start at the barn itself, and a day with the blue-est of blue skies. Searing heat, stunning views and the promise of so much to come. The warmth of the greeting from Claire and her bridesmaids was just lovely and it was like being with old friends from the go. A massive thank you to Kay, Georgina, Becci, Emily and Amelia. A huge thanks also to my colleagues on the day, the lovely husband and wife videographers Clare and Jack. Great fun and a real pleasure to work with.
We head to Tetbury for the ceremony itself. Gorgeous vows, gospel singers. What’s not to love? Ewan was waiting and from the moment I met him for the first time I liked him. He’s incredibly easy to get along with, and spent the entire day smiling.
Back to Kingscote Barn for the rest of the day. The most perfect weather. Endless laughter and right at the centre we had a bride and groom who just basked in the day. We had it all today and love was all around. Claire and Ewan were utterly brilliant to work with. Any suggestion was greeted with enthusiasm and what we got shows that. Claire knew what she wanted, but without any hint of drama. It just all flowed so perfectly. A day amongst the closest of friends and family. As a couple they exude class, humour and not a little elegance.
Put simply I had an absolute ball today. I was welcomed in amongst the loveliest of people, and every element needed for a perfect wedding was laid out before me.
Claire and Ewan. You are one hell of a couple. You are the best people to be around. As you said in your email to me after the wedding ‘we need to go for pints together!’.
