Hertfordshire, you are beautiful. Apt for what was a spectacular wedding right in the middle of that gorgeous countryside with the ace Hannah and Ollie……
We begin in the lovely village of Brickendon at Hannah’s childhood home, and what a home it is. Renovated by her folks it’s the sort of place you’d buy with a lottery win. I didn’t want to leave. With Hannah were her Mum and her bridesmaids – thanks to Julia, Lucy, Clare, Olivia and Daisy for a warm welcome and excellence throughout the day. The same must of course go to Ollie’s chaps, Baz, Dom. Louie, Luke, George and the two Wills. Prep done, and with Hannah looking like several million dollars, it was into Hertford itself and a short drive to the absolutely stunning The Immaculate Conception and St Joseph. A lovely service, a mingle, confetti, laughter. All the things you’d want.
Next up was the final location for the day, Tewin Bury Farm. My first time here and I’m back there in December which is, as they say, nice. Thanks to another Hannah here for her help throughout the day. The weather stayed dry (and it was before the heatwave that I’m currently typing in) so the afternoon reception was outdoors. After a great meal it was time for some genuinely excellent speeches. I didn’t realise hot water bottles were so dangerous Ollie! The last of some perfect evening light, a first dance from the top drawer.
Wedding boxes are many and varied. Today ticked all of them. That was thanks to two people. They are, of course, Hannah and Ollie. I loved them and the elegance, warmth, humour and generosity they brought to their wedding. Once more I drove away knowing this is an incredible job, made even more so by sharing days like this.
Hannah, Ollie. Thank you both. This is your story…..
