And so 2022 ended on the very last day of the year, and some New Year's Eve Hampton Court House wedding photography - Eliza + Alex laying on the party that the day deserved, and to hell with the wind and rain battering down outside. A day that began with Alex and his groomsmen just a few hundred feet away, that led me to Eliza's parents' beautiful home a few miles away, and then back to the stunning Hampton Court House for the rest of what was the most perfect end to a crazy, hectic, heartwarming year of weddings. A few weeks pause before I began again for 2023....

But first today and the marriage of two very wonderful people. Warm, funny, deeply loved by many. Eliza and Alex are very much my kind of people - sporty, lovers of the outdoors, no edge and no artifice. Just genuine and open. Some people might have let this weather get to them - not these two. It's winter in England right? We all know what to expect, and the absolute best was made of it, with the result being the best of days and the note-perfect ending to 2022.

I drove away once again reflecting on how very lucky I am to have this job, and to have couples like Eliza and Alex book me. That was just reinforced when Eliza emailed me this a few weeks later as a testimonial:

"I actually can't put into words how brilliant Guy was - but I'm going to try! It's rare to find someone who manages to capture the real feeling of a (crazy but magical) day, but Guy did exactly that. From the groomsmen's lunch, to the hilarity of the soaking wet arrivals, to the speeches to the dance floor, the feeling of the day is there in every photo, and they make us SO happy.

Everyone said how great he was to be around, and you can really tell by the photos that he took - natural, candid and so much fun. He knew how much we wanted a couple of outside photos and managed to also act as weather forecaster to find a few minutes of minimal rain to make this happen. He really listened to us and understood exactly what we wanted, offering reassurance along the way. Total legend; would 10/10 recommend"

I can't actually put into words what it means to read things like that from couples this special. I've tried here, but I don't feel it's quite enough. Maybe these photos will do a better job....
