Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Kate and Russ. And meet a corker of a day.
We’re back at Bury Court Barn. I love it here. I never, ever, tire of shooting here. It has everything. An interior barn to die for. Incredible gardens. The most perfect scenery and options for dry and wet weather. Soft, warm light. Brilliant staff like Tessa and Ellena (and the sadly also departing last Friday Izzy!). Top drawer food from Jacaranda. And let me stop here for a moment, to bid farewell to two of my favourite wedding people who left Jacaranda last weekend. Tori and Abbie. Travelling calls them, and some amazing times ahead. They are the best. I love them both and it won’t be quite the same without them. Safe travels my friends. It’s been a blast.
Ok, tears wiped from eyes, only for them to be replaced by tears of joy and laughter for Kate and Russ. Crazy Kate, as she has been known, finally married her boy.
A day that started at noon, with the girls’ prep in full swing. Russ and his chaps just below. Russ would admit he’s pretty shy and that being the centre of attention doesn’t come easy to him. Some early nerves, but he pretty much nailed it. Good looking bloke. Hands that look like they could rip trees out of the ground. Admittedly handy as he’s a tree surgeon.
Once again we were blessed with the weather, and kudos to Kate for not caring that we got her Louboutin’s a little mucky. She’s a damn fine subject if I may say so. Masses of fun, fabulous eyes and very easy in front of the lens. Blazing sun, softer afternoon light and the autumn colours really kicking it. I love working at this time of year. Cooler air, softer light. Yes please.
I love working at weddings like this, and with people like Kate and Russ. They’re just easy to be with. No dramas. Just the right idea of what a wedding is and what it takes to make it work. I can’t thank them enough.
Kate, Russ. This is your day…..
