Just wow. Hannah and Tommy. A wedding that promised much and delivered on every level and then some. Just. Wow.
Hannah’s in the wedding industry. She’s a florist at the ace Eden Blooms so I was bouncing when she asked if I’d shoot her wedding. We’d met working at a few weddings, and then again when I went to see her and Tommy at home earlier this year. That just confirmed what a blast this wedding would be. Maybe because Hannah works in the industry and sees a lot of do’s and don’ts, but whatever the reason this was one incredibly chilled out couple. More about them later……
So, we begin at Hannah’s parents’ home just across town in Old Basing. I cannot deny that having a 10 minute drive for bridal prep wasn’t lovely! Working alongside me on video was the brilliant Ollie from Storybook Films (ably assisted on the day by Tom). I’ve with Ollie on a few weddings now and they’re always great fun to do together. From Old Basing it was over to St Stephen’s in Baughurst, and the roads that I ride daily when I’m out training. The weather had truly bless us today with the most perfect light and colour. Our final stop for the day was the delightful Hatherden Farm just the other side of Andover. My first time shooting here and what a gorgeous little gem it is. Kudos to the owners and thanks to them for giving us a free run at their gardens and surrounding fields. Not all venues let you do that!
Massive thanks must go to Hazel, Shelly and Cally at Eden Blooms, and to Anna at Buds who’d been called in to help. It’s safe to say that this wedding was a bit special for them. Hannah is one of theirs and all the stops were pulled out to make this as special as possible. They absolutely nailed it from start to finish. Kudos for a superb job. Thanks also to all of the bridesmaids and groomsmen for their help on the day.
But of course the main people are Hannah and Tommy. Yet another who just wanted me to do my thing and trusted me to do it. The results show that. They met when they were young and still are really, but they’re also mature beyond their years. Hannah’s Dad and I had a long chat about their early days and months together and it’s a genuinely lovely story. The biggest compliment I can pay Tommy is that, as a father myself, he’s the sort of man I’d be happy to see my daughter settle down with. Fathers will know what that means.
Hannah looked nothing short of radiant. Not because of hair, or make-up or a dress, all of which were perfectly judged for her. No, it’s because of what her and Tommy become when they’re together. They fit, they connect, they match, they work. Everywhere and on everything. I was utterly proud to have been asked to photograph this wedding and oddly nervous leading up to it. I hope I’ve done them proud.
Hannah, Tommy. You were, and are, immense. It was everything I’d hoped for, and how. And this is your story…..
