Two words for this wedding at Gate Street Barn. Top. Drawer.
Claire and Andy will know what that means. I’ll say no more here. Claire and Andy, aka Huggy and Macca. Also known as a damn lovely couple who threw a brilliant party at their wedding. Here’s the story of a wonderful day.
We met last year at the Kalm Kitchen HQ. That meeting promised a great day, and boy did Friday deliver. Just look at the smiles on their faces to see what I mean. So I arrived to busy prep, with Claire and her girls (a massive thank you to Nettie, Lou and Rachel here) at one end, and Andy and the chaps at the other (and another thank you to Alex, Jonny, Matt and Rob). Champagne at one end, beers at the other. No prizes for guessing which way round that was.
Guests flowing into the barn for the main event, and a beaming Claire heading fast (literally, her Dad had to slow her down) towards Andy. Dressed to perfection by the geniuses at Miss Bush. Andy’s Mum surprised to be a witness as Andy forgot to mention that bit. Brilliant. A day of sun, cloud, sun, cloud, rain, sun, cloud, sun, sun, cloud, rain…..work fast, hit the light. And relax. Incredible food from Kalm again. How do they keep doing it. A huge thank you to the delightful Eloise for running the day. Beautiful flowers from the lovely Gill Pike (and I’m still gutted I’m not free to shoot her wedding next year).
A set of absolutely superb speeches. Genuinely. These were funny, tender, emotional. Good work all. An evening set off to the tunes from ace band Rollercoaster and these nights are drawing in. Felt odd driving off in the dark.
Claire and Andy then. Huggy and Macca.
Andy. A very funny man. Great company. A livewire. Bright. Sharp. You can see the affection he’s shown by friends and family. Well deserved from what I could see.
Claire. Eyes to die for. Look at them. Stunning. As funny as Andy. A beautiful girl full of smiles. Matches Andy on every level.
An absolutely killer couple this. And a killer wedding.
You could call it top drawer…..
