Oh my word. Just an incredible day with the most incredible couple. Carissa and Richard, take a bow. This was immense. So let me tell this story….sit down for some Gate Street Barn Spring wedding photography .
We begin in Shere, and a lovely place that Carissa had rented for the bridal prep. After a perfectly relaxed morning we were off to the ever-wonderful Gate Street Barn and my first wedding there since some big changes were made to the buildings over the winter. Gate Street has always had a very specific atmosphere and that’s reflected in the couples who marry there. I was a little worried that some of the relaxed elegance may have been lost. I needn’t have done so. Jane and the team there absolutely nailed it. They’ve added space and light and really opened it up (and it will work brilliantly for winter weddings). I love the changes.
Richard was already there waiting, and the ceremony was soon upon us. The weather gods were smiling once again and allowed us the outdoor reception we wanted. Superb food and drink nestled between the speeches, and eased into the evening dancing and pizzas. Massive thanks are due to lots of people. To Carissa’s bridesmaids – Natassa, Tine, Fiona and Leanne – and to Richard’s groomsmen – Marko, Taylor, Sam, Jon and Johnny. Fantastic job all and a real pleasure to meet you. To my fellow suppliers – to India and her team on the day at Gate Street, to all at the ace Tandem Catering, to the lovely Gill Pike for perfect floristry, to Ash on video duties, and to my pals at the brilliant Rollercoaster on music duties.
I do, of course, reserve the final part of this post for the reason we were there.
Carissa and Richard, and a thousand smiles.
What a couple. I’ve shot a lot of weddings now but they never get old. That’s entirely down to people like this. The energy coming off Carissa and Richard was something to see. They just fizzed when they were with one another. Bubbled. Electric. A life already built, and an incredible one to be built on top of that. Widely, and deeply, loved by many and lucky to have a terrific group of friends and family. They’re funny, warm, generous, bright, and utterly, utterly made for each other.
Days like these live long in the memory. The photos below tell you about this couple and their love. Carissa and Richard, thank you so, so much.
This is your story…..
