From Italy to Surrey in two short weeks. And for Surrey read the impeccable Gate Street Barn, probably the first venue I worked at that really made me see what a venue can be. That was a few years ago now and every time I return I’m struck by the same. Classy, run by lovely people – in this case Lisa and Lucy – and always, always booked by people who just let me do what I do and who smile all day long
Today was no different. Today was Becca and James. Today was a bit good.
It had all the ingredients to be. Kalm Kitchen on food. It gets no better, believe me. How they get out that quality for so many people just baffles me. This is a team of people right at the top of their game. Front of house by the lovely Eloise for the second wedding in three weeks. A cracking group of guests. An absolutely beautiful blessing by two Pastors from Becca and James’s church. Weather that just held off for us, with the rain starting to fall just as the wedding breakfast began.
But mainly it had Becca and James. Perhaps the smiliest couple I’ve photographed. Certainly one of the most at ease that I can remember.
At ease with each other. At ease with those there. At ease before the lens. Just perfect. A couple bound together by love and by shared devotion. A couple committed to each other and utterly so. No nerves, no worries, just the most meaningful connection and set for a wonderful life together.
“Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.” – Marcus Aureluis, Meditations.
Becca and James. Stars that run together. I’ve witnessed that first hand. This, then, is their story….
