Crikey. What. A. Day.
Bex and Ryan. Just amazing. So let’s start at the beginning. We go back a year and a Skype call from Glasgow. Ryan’s a pretty handy rugby player, what with him being a pro playing for Scotland and Glasgow Warriors, and fresh from smashing Munster in the Pro12 final just a week before the wedding. I’m a massive rugby fan and that Skype call told me this would be some day. I wasn’t wrong. Fellow rugby fans might see some familiar faces below….
We start just outside Farnham at Bex’s Mum’s house (a huge thank you here to Liz (aka Mum) for being utterly brilliant all day) and a home full of bridesmaids (thank you to all!), The Babies (as Bex and Ryan call their two children), and ace videographers Aaron and Andrea of Reel Weddings (a big thank you here, it’s always a huge laugh working with you). It also happened to be Bex’s birthday which explains the appearance of CAKE. Happy Birthday once again.
From here to Frensham, and Ryan with his 4 Best Men waiting. Some big chaps here and I felt pretty small amongst them even at 6’1″. Not people I’d want to try and take down on a pitch that’s for sure. I’ll stick to cycling. A really nice touch with Bex’s grandfather (now retired) conducting the service. Lovely words from the heart for his grand-daughter. Ryan really feeling the humid heat of the day in his tweed suit (but looking damn good in it).
To the reception at the very familiar Bury Court Barn and ever amazing food from the every amazing Jacaranda and Tori (a huge thank you as always). The heat fading a little. The warmth of the day just increasing as the drinks flowed. 6 superb speeches. Moments of real gentleness between Bex and Ryan. I think it’s time to talk about why we were all there. Bex. Ryan.
Met at 16. Fell in love. Fast. 10 years on here we are. A genuine love story. Ryan may well be a monster on a rugby pitch but when he’s with Bex he shows a softness that belies his size. A proper gent to meet and surrounded by a huge number of good friends. That says a lot about the man.
Bex. A quite stunning beauty. The very opposite of a Bridezilla. Literally the very opposite. An incredible smile that stayed put all day long. You get the impression Ryan knows how lucky he is to have the new Mrs Wilson as his wife. It was obvious to the rest of us.
I can’t thank you both enough. To share this day with you was a real privilege.
This is your day……
Looks like you had a fairy tale day 🙂 x
