Has Farnham ever looked better than today? Not when it has a couple like Alice and Henry taking it over, that’s for sure……
3 venues. All in Farnham, one of my very favourite towns. Alice’s family. A church. Henry’s family home. Symmetry, and I love symmetry.
So we begin with Alice and her bridesmaids. Massive thanks to Daisy, Poppy, Charlie and Steph right off the bat. I walked in to a house full of laughter and it didn’t stop all day. This is one close group of friends and it really showed. Expert hair and make-up from the ladies at Beauty Call. Gorgeous floristry from Lavender Hill. All the pieces falling into place.
A short walk up to St Andrews church. My first time shooting here, but I’ve walked many times, as I have most of the streets of Farnham. This is a town dear to my heart, and today it soared with Alice and Henry lighting up every corner. As I thanked the girls, so I must the chaps, Sam (best man), Pete, Tom, Dave, Rob, Luke. An equally close group of friends for Henry. Moments of gentle love afterwards with Alice’s grandparents, and a drive up to Henry’s parents’ home for the rest of the day in a gorgeous Healey. We finish the day just up by Farnham Castle, a venue I know well.
A huge thank you to Els, co-ordinator for the day and provider of food and drink for me. Great fun and a stellar job!
I love shooting at this time of year. We’re officially into Autumn now, and the colours are just on the turn. Gold and amber replaces the green of summer. The warmth ebbs away with fresher days and the light gives us a soft, golden glow. Today that glow also came from Alice and Henry. Their warmth and humour filled the marquee, and the laughter of their friends and family could be heard deep into Farnham.
Today was a day to live long in memories. A day where Alice and Henry stood before those dearest to them and committed to a life together. I was lucky enough to photograph it. Thank you to everyone there. To Alice and Henry especially so.
