Today was a gorgeous September Sunday. I absolutely love shooting at this time of year. The heat was fallen away, the light is just about perfect with lower sun and warm tones, and those autumn colours are singing loudly. Having all of these at a venue like the superb Farnham Castle and it doesn’t get any better. A huge thank you to Heather, Sean and their team. I’m hugely proud to be a recommended supplier here! Adding to the gorgeousness today were incredible flowers, as always, by Hannah Berry.
I arrived to find Victoria and her girls busy getting ready, and a very relaxed atmosphere. Haribo were present to avoid any hangry episodes. A huge thank you to the bridesmaids, Becky, Josie and Lucy, for their help and humour today, and also to David’s groomsmen, Richard, Danyl, Alastair and Leo, for the same. Some of you might recognise one of the groomsmen from a certain Saturday night TV show…..it bugged me for hours before I realised!
David was also getting ready across the way, and it was great fun bouncing between the two rooms. The time soon passed until it was that moment we waited for. And what a ceremony. You only need to look at Victoria and David, and the light in the Lantern Hall, to see what I mean. Confetti out down Foxes Tower, and a lovely afternoon reception outside in perfect autumn light. The rains came later. We didn’t care.
Victoria and David probably don’t realise how photogenic they are. I know they were nervous about the couple session. Look. At. Them. Talk about nailing it. Elegance, laughter, tenderness, closeness, intimacy. They made it so very easy for me.
That sums them up really. They really did make it easy. I liked them from the moment we met, and that feeling just grew and grew throughout the day. To see them together is to see genuine love. Just absolute perfection within two people. It was clear to see that they are widely adored by the people around them. I absolutely loved being with them and having, once again, the privilege of photographing a day this special.
Victoria and David. I wish you both the best life together. I have no doubt it will be. This is your story…..
