Today New Jersey came to Farnham. Today Paulette married Laurence. Today was immense…..
We woke to an unusual sight this summer, cloudy skies and heavy rain. I’d almost forgotten what it looked like, then I remembered I’m English and it all came flooding back. Pun intended.
First things – Paulette didn’t care about the rain. Some would. Not her. It says a lot about her and Laurence that they were throwing a party and the weather was a side issue. This is the way to do it. I had some awesome suppliers alongside me today. The fantastic team at Farnham Castle, the floral geniuses at Eden Blooms, the top-notch make-up and hair girls at Natasha Wiggins, the musical smashers at Rollercoaster. You don’t get much better.
We also had some awesome groomsmen and bridesmaids – a massive thank you to to you all. Once again, you don’t get much better.
Of course we also had Paulette and Laurence. Two worlds colliding. Two lives becoming one. They met in the US and that, as they say, was that. England and America joined. For life. We first met over coffee a few months back and clicked immediately. We talked about life, technology (ok, that was myself and Laurence) and of course what you see below. It’s safe to say I liked them. I liked them even more as I left this wedding.
How can I best describe them? In love? Of course. That’s a given. More than that it’s clear they need each other and that life together is so much more than they ever hoped for. Oceans have been crossed to make this happen. Two very different backgrounds melting away because what really matters, matters. They’re funny, warm, generous, outgoing, intelligent. They know how to throw a party and they know how to make a wedding for those most important to them. The also know what they mean to each other. To see the way they look at each other is quite special. You’ll see what I mean below.
This, dear readers, is a proper love story. One that has spanned thousands of miles. It is Paulette and Laurence. It is magic…
