So hello August, and hello to the wonderful Chloe and Seb. Hello also to a day that veered from blazing sun to torrential rain within minutes of each other….but what a day we had.
We begin and end at the gorgeous RAC Club near Epsom, with a brief interlude over to the equally lovely St. Mary’s in Ewell (and perhaps some of the most gorgeous ceremony light I’ve yet to see). Today was something of a dream team of suppliers working alongside me. Yet another amazing dress fitted to perfection by Emma and her team at Miss Bush in Ripley. World-class make up by the always lovely Carolanne Armstrong, and truly gorgeous flowers by the superb Mad Lilies. A shout out also goes to Sjoerd, ace videographer who’d flown in from Holland and who I was working alongside for the second time this year (with neither of us knowing until I arrrived). Massive thanks to all of these people, all right at the top of their games. I also need to thank Chloe’s father, Jerry, for all of his help both before and on the day.
We left the RAC in rain, and arrived back in rain. But in the middle we had all the sun, and then even more of it as the reception unfolded. It always helps when you have a couple like Chloe and Seb – chilled, relaxed and just beaming from start to finish. Surrounded by the people they love, in a venue like this. How could it fail.
Seb has just landed a pretty cool job in Switzerland so they’ll be splitting their time between England and there now. But what a team they make. I don’t need to tell you that they’re damn good-looking, nor that they oozed class and elegance. That much is obvious. But what I can tell you is that working with couples like this is a highlight of any wedding. The trust to do what I do, and to roll with the day, is always special. They aced it from start to finish.
