A Tuesday in Herefordshire. At Eastnor Castle to be exact. Like walking on to a set from Game of Thrones. Except today was for Leah and Baron-Jon rather than Winterfell or Knight’s Landing.
A couple who flew from Honolulu to marry in the most English of settings. An exceptional venue for an exceptional couple, with an exceptional group of colleagues alongside me.
Mind. Blown. A proper, real love story. Lives meant to be shared together. A couple who met at work, and where the love was so strong it resulted in a flight from New York to declare it. The resulting months led to this day and a demonstration of love.
Some thanks first, to those colleagues alongside me. To the amazingly lovely Louise Perry. With her ace assistant Natalie they planned this whole thing for Leah and Baron-Jon. We’ve worked together a lot now and they are both the absolute best at what they do. To Jodie and Ben at Eastnor Castle for making me feel so welcome and for whom nothing was too much trouble. Louise had, once again, assembled a team of suppliers who were note perfect for Leah and Baron-Jon and for their day. That’s not easy believe me. Kudos, as ever.
But my thanks, as always go to two people who I met for the first time in person on their wedding day. To the frankly awesome Leah and Baron-Jon. From the mile-wide smiles of Leah all day to the most tender demonstration of love I think I’ve ever witnessed as Baron-Jon held her, I left in awe of what they are together. Of the love they showed for each other, and for the love shown to them by the people there. A love given words during one of the speeches, from the prose of Pablo Neruda:
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way than this:
where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.”
I can say nothing more appropriate than that. My words would be insufficient. So I hope the images below do them the justice they so richly deserve…..this is Leah and Baron-Jon. And they, my friends, rock.
