Did someone say ‘ridiculously glorious Spring weather’? They must have done because Jo and Pete had just that for their wonderful wedding at the superb Cripps Barn deep in the gorgeous Cotswold countryside. After a few weeks break following my February trio this was a hell of a day to get right back into the swing of weddings before the mayhem of the next few months to come.

So we start the day in the beautiful Coln St Aldwyns at Jo’s parents’ holiday home. With Jo were her bridesmaids, both called Nikki and both huge fun. A massive thank you to them here. On hair and makeup duties were the lovely Chris from Fordham Hair Design and Claire Bryce. Another thank you to them both.

A short drive to Cripps Barn where Pete and his Best Man Paul were waiting, with everyone marvelling at the stunning weather and location. Pete and I both share a love of cycling and coffee, but Pete is beyond talented at the former and would surely rip my legs off for fun. This is a man who has ridden 311 miles in a 12 hour time trial. The mind boggles. I should add another thank you to Alice and her team at Cripps Barn for nailing it all day long and for being such a pleasure to work with. I hope to be back there again soon!

Guests gathered and took their seats. Jo arrived. Pete had to pick his jaw off the floor. Many breaths were taken away as she walked in, and you could not wish to find a couple better suited than these. They’re both fiercely intelligent and driven. They absolutely fit. They just gel and flow with each other, and even after a brief time with them it’s obvious to see what they mean to one another. They’d told me they weren’t the sort of couple given to outward displays of romance. I guess that depends on your definition of what that means. If it means two people utterly at ease with each other, displaying a sense of quiet need and utter loyalty then I’d say they’re not quite accurate with that description.

They created a day together with those closest to them. They have no ego or drama. They simply let it all flow and the magic happens when that’s the case.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage” ~ Lao Tzu

Jo and Pete. You have both strength and courage and I have no doubt that your lives together will be immense. You two will shortly become three and that can only let you grow even closer. Thank you for having me there. This is your story…..
