Oh. My God. This was awesome. Samba dancing and Clock Barn wedding photography - Lex + Tristan put on one hell of a party. After some pandemic-related delays (which made absolute sense when I realised just how global the guest list was for this wedding), the day dawned to perhaps the most perfect March day I can recall. 18c and endless blue skies. A week later it was down to 7c and sleet, and their original date in August 2021 ended up rainy. I think today was meant to be.
Lex, Tristan and I talked a fair bit over the months following their booking. They're a very special couple and it was clear today would be equally so. I arrived to Kelly working her magic on Lex, Nix and Max, and to Tristan arriving with Inca, their gorgeous Wirehaired Vizsla. I will admit to wanting to steal her.
Special mention to Lex's incredible dress, handmade by her Mum (seriously, how good?), and to Lex's hair which was a terrific nod to her punk past, and to some wonderful jewellery courtesy of The Great Frog.
I should add a huge thanks to Lauren and Molly at Clock Barn for being so ace to work with and for running the day so smoothly. Also to Karen at Harrison & Green for stellar floristry.
After a beautiful ceremony, and the most perfect weather for the reception, food and drink beckoned, followed by a trio of lovely speeches. Golden hour gave us some great light, and then onto the evening show. And show is the right word. Lex and Tristan have samba in their hearts, and have played all over the world. Throw in some incredible dancers and my first ever bride and groom on drums. Earplugs were offered and gratefully accepted. Damn though, the sound and rhythm was some else. I absolutely loved it.
2022 is shaping up to be the quite the year. This was only my 3rd wedding so far, with another 37 to come at the time of writing. To say the bar has been set high is something of an understatement.....
My heart sang when they emailed me this after seeing these images - "Thank you so much, our hearts are so full. What a beautiful representation, and raw captured emotion, of our very special day. We hope you're as proud of the results as we are happy with them, as you've played such a significant and impactful role to us leading up to and during our wedding. It can’t be overstated how much we really loved getting to know you and working with you!"
And that, right there, is why I love people like this so much, and why I am so, so lucky to call this my job.
Thank you both, for all of it.
