Alex. Jamie. Cain Manor. A whole lot of love. And a whole lot of rain….
So, last weekend saw me back at Cain Manor, and a very different day from the last visit back in July. It’s a beautiful old house, but pretty dark on a sunny day. Late November even more so. But far from the gloom outside, nothing but warmth and joy inside. All down to Alex and Jamie, and all down to the people around them.
Some thank you’s. To Libby, for cakeface. To Jo and the staff at Cain Manor. To all of the guests, and especially Caro and Richard for their excellent conversation, and to Emma and Paula for the endless mickey-taking.
But mainly to Alex and Jamie.
A couple who are utterly selfless. From the moment we met in Winchester last month to talk about the day I liked them. Warm, funny and bright-eyed at what lies ahead for them both. I’ve been at wedding where people have literally lost their minds because of rain. Not here, and not today. Minimal impact and one that doesn’t really matter. Because the only thing that mattered was these two people cementing their love and committing to each other for life. To do so surrounded by such a lovely group of friends and family just made it a bit more special. The warmth of the welcomes matched by the warmth of the love they have for each other.
I keep banging this drum, but it bears repeating. To photograph these days is a privilege based on trust and understanding. People like Alex and Jamie make that possible, and make it an absolute pleasure.
Thank you both. This is your story….
