Bristol wedding photography – Chantelle + Nick

Settle down for some Bristol wedding photography and Chantelle + Nick's fantastic summer wedding on what I think was the hottest English wedding that I've ever photographed. Oh. My. God. The heat, the heat. These cities aren't built for it, but how the sun shone for these incredible people.

Chantelle and Nick had chosen Goldney Hall for their day, part of Bristol University, and the keen-eyed amongst you might recognise the Orangery and gardens from the wedding episode of the recent Sherlock Holmes series. It's a stunning little hideaway in a beautifully historic part of Bristol. Classy and elegant, and entirely in keeping with Chantelle and Nick, a couple who bring class and elegance to their lives, and to today in particular.

That baking day began with a trip down the M4 from Hampshire to a city I know well as I have a lot of family in the area. Mercifully finding some parking on-site I was warmly greeted by Nick and his Best Man. Our original plan of a first look and couple photos before the ceremony was hastily amended to take the afternoon heat into account. It was telling just how easily they took my advice onboard as we tweaked the running order to allow for it. They're a wonderfully relaxed couple and are genuinely gentle souls. I was thrilled to be there with them (not least because it turns out Nick is originally from the town I now live very near!).

I'm writing this as we're in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Last night Chantelle and Nick emailed me to see how I was and if there was anything they could help with. That, in one email, sums them up. The care and thought was so incredibly touching and in a year of Not Many Weddings, a reminder of what a special job this is, and the people that I've been lucky enough to meet through it.
