And like that, we were back. May 2021 and after another 5 month break weddings were on again, starting with this Bingham Riverhouse wedding photography – Saima + Stewart showing that after the chaos and uncertainty of 2020 and the first few months of 2021, we could see hope again. We could see the lights come back on.
After all the waiting I’d start 2021 some 4 months later than planned, and with a two consecutive days with this brilliant couple. Today in Richmond-upon-Thames, and the next day would be in Ealing. That one will get its own blog post, because both deserve them. I loved these days, and the feeling that freedom and life was once again around the corner. Of course we still had some MAD restrictions in place – for example the bridesmaids (all vaccinated) not being allowed to walk down the aisle, yet having spent the morning getting ready together. I was all for sensible measures but some of the stuff that went on was just nuts.
No matter though, because once those formalities were out of the way the day proved every inch the intimate, romantic and note-perfect launchpad for what was going to be a crazy year. Saima welcomed me like an old friend, Stewart then echoed that. I was amongst people who had waited for their day, and now it was here weren’t going to waste any time. At all.
The Bingham looked as perfect as ever, with that glorious riverside setting and some quite incredible weather after rain the day before. This was what they deserved, and I was so, so pleased for them. Smiles for days, and sunshine to go with them.
This then, was the start to 2021. And day two at Pitzhanger Manor would prove just as wonderful….
