And that was 2017. What. A. Year.
It seems fitting to look back now that Xmas and New Year is out of the way, with the start of my 2018 season just a month away. Finally time to breathe and take stock of the 40 couples who trusted me with their weddings in 2017.
I do this each year, and each year it takes days and days. I shot over 110,000 images over the course of those 40 weddings spread across 11 months, so working through them all takes a little while. Each year I set myself a challenge, and this year was just 4 images from each wedding. 160 images from 110,000, or 0.14% of everything I photographed. Not many, but enough.
Enough to show the essence of each couple and each wedding. Enough to show what love means to them. Enough to show what friends and family bring to these incredible days. Enough to show the most wonderful times with the most special people. 80 people made 40 couples and 40 days of utter joy and meaning. What a job this is. Truly.
Thank you all. To Paul and Phil, Katy and Russ, Aubrey and Joe, Pete and Jo, Bessie and Lou, Louise and Ed, Caroline and Ryan, Emily and Alex, Merry and Matt, Sophie and Andy, Claire and Ewan, Kristina and Daniel, Rachel and Barry, John and Becca, Rachel and Richard, Laura and Alex, Catherine and Paul, Nick and Leanne, Jess and Alex, Sarah and Jonny, Joanna and Liam, Karen and Rob, Holly and Gary, Ruben and Sarah, Chloe and Seb, Kate and Joe, Alice and Henry, Helene and Richard, Mary and Rob, Emily and Tom, Victoria and David, Natalie and Andrew, Johanna and Jack, Susie and Oly, Lucie and James, Katie and Peter, Lauren and Ed, Charlotte and Nicolas, Rachel and Seb and Olivia and James.
It was an honour to be at each and every one of your weddings. I would say you all smashed it out of the park, but no park would be big enough for you all.
What a year, what an amazing group of people you all are. Thank you, from the bottom of a heart that you all helped fill. Have the most wonderful lives together, always.
