2025. My review of the year…
My 19th year doing this most incredible thing for a living. A year that saw me pass 750 weddings, just as this year will see me pass 800.
The buzz-word for 2026 is, apparently, “authentic”. Look at these and tell me this is something new. It isn’t. It never has been. Every year I see people pour all of their hearts into their days. Trends come and go, people persist. Has love ever gone out of fashion?
Photography is important. More than ever. We are supposed to be unmoored in a world of immediacy. Of instant gratification and likes. Or are we? For all that the tech bros tell us this, I’m not sure it’s that simple. People connect, come together. Celebrate, laugh, cry, get drunk, fall over, dance, eat. They *live*. Weddings bring so much humanity, of all the flavours, all of the emotional resonance that remind us why we live and breathe together.
To every one of those couples who you see here. You were magnificent. You were human. You were everything. These pictures are the testimony of your days. They are what makes this job so incredible, rewarding and emotionally charged.
Photography is proof of life – that you were here. That you mattered. That you lived, and loved, and laughed, and cried. We photograph to show lives that matter and that happened. They are time capsules.
