Guy’s mum/Jess’s Nanny - Heartfelt words and a beautiful picture of a gorgeous little lady who is just so very lucky to have you as her father (& Nicky as her mother). She will always know how much she is loved, and it matters not one jot that you think you’re not always the best Dad ever – because who is always the best parent they could be? We all get ratty and impatient, that’s just part of the human condition, but to a child it’s all about the balance between between realising that (and it really isn’t a bad thing for children to realise that their parents are human!) and knowing that you are loved above all else. When you were little and had done something that you thought was so awful that I wouldn’t love you anymore (I can’t even remember what it was!) I told you that there was nothing you could do that would ever put you beyond my love, and I thought at the time “One day he’ll understand that”. Now I know that you do. As proud as you are of Jess, and rightly so, I am just as proud of you for the man you have become, and the wonderful father that you are. xxx

Robb Edge - Im the same with my two. One moment they can drive you mad with the endless bickering and the next your just about in tears cos your so proud of something they’ve done, like riding a bike with no stabilisers or coming first in a running race on sports day.

Im not the best dad sometimes and being ill makes it hard work, but like you say, you love em to bits and will do anything for them.
