Michelle and Gwil – Kirtlington Park

Gwil and I wanted to say a big thank you for capturing our wedding so wonderfully. We still can’t stop looking at our photos six months after the wedding!

Neither of us enjoy having our photograph taken so it was a real relief to find Guy – he immediately put us at ease and we knew very quickly that he would create the beautiful, natural photos we were looking for. On the day itself, Guy was great. His calming influence, sense of humour and friendly, but unobtrusive, manner meant that everyone was relaxed. He blended in effortlessly with our guests and was a true professional. For much of the time, we forgot that Guy was there so it was a lovely surprise to see some of the special moments he had captured. We were also really impressed at how well he managed the guests for the full group shot – not an easy task!

We really cannot thank Guy enough for being such a star. As a fellow photographer, my husband had him picked out as the only choice for our wedding for quite some time (in fact, as I discovered, before he had even met me!) assuring me that Guy was the only person he would trust to capture our special day. And it was without a doubt the right choice, as honestly, people still talk about how amazing our wedding pictures are now (over 6 months on!).

Our big day involved a fusion of two cultures with a civil ceremony and Nikkah, and Guy’s images captured the details of both ceremonies, and the changes of clothing and makeup that went with them, beautifully. From start to finish, he was always with me capturing all my emotions as well as the transformations I went through to help me feel like a million dollars. In fact I actually felt quite attached to him and wanted him to be everywhere I went!

Its quite strange really, but I guess I never really thought much about how important it is to have a good relationship with the photographer on your wedding day. But I now fully appreciate that, having had one that was so professional, enthusiastic, funny and who actually enjoyed the experience of the day with us. Guy’s great sense of humour and ability to work so well with my stylist was a real asset. My stylist was busy beautifying me and Guy worked not just around her, but with her. It really was a perfect combination. We loved his photojournalist approach and the way he could spot a potential image at the drop of a hat, and we were over the moon with the end result. He also made quite an impression on our guests too…they absolutely loved his down to earth character with many of them branding him as a legend!

To sum up…Guy captured an incredible range of natural emotions throughout the day, and even when we look through the photos now, its like re-living our amazing day all over again. We really cannot recommend, or thank, him enough.

I’m not sure where to start with thanking you. Weeks on from our wedding day I’m still smiling at how stunning the photographs are. Our only regret is that we didn’t have you stay on a little longer in the evening to capture some of the dancing!

I’d like to also thank you for humouring the bridesmaids, managing to photograph so many of our nearest and dearest and for not making us do any silly poses. I’m not a massive fan of photos of myself but i don’t think i’ve viewed one that i didn’t like. To sum it up you did a wonderful job and we are very, very happy with the results.

For the world’s most fabulous wedding photographer – Guy.

I am not quite sure where to start with our thank you. From the moment we met Guy some 12 months before our wedding we knew he was pretty special.

We were keen to find a photgrapher that ticked quite a few boxes – someone who knew our venue “The Barn at Bury Court”, someone “nice & easy going” who would get along with us, our family and friends (we have experienced the wedding photographer from hell), someone we trusted who wouldn’t let us down, someone who takes “amazing” photos, someone who favours the natural/reportage type shots rather than staged false shots and someone who would really capture the spirit of our day. Guy did all these things and a little bit more.

Myself, my husband, our family and friends have been totally blown away by photos from our wedding day. Not only just by the quality (which is superb) but by the way Guy totally caputured the emotion of our day, right from the very start (my laughter walking down the aisle!)

The memories Guy has captutred will stay with us forever. Not only that, but it was also a pleasure to get to know such a talented and genuine person. I literally cannot recommend him highly enough.

We first saw Guy’s work on a little blog called Rock My Wedding, featuring the stunning pictures of Becky and Steve. We were really inspired by the creativity and uniqueness of the wedding, but it was the effortless portrayal in Guy’s images conveying the emotion of every single moment that really impressed us. I’m not often choked by a complete strangers wedding photos, so we booked him without hesitation.

As a nervous bride and groom, we opted for an E-shoot to get acquainted with the camera a few weeks before the wedding. Not only did we get some stunning pictures from it but we had a really enjoyable day with Guy who made us feel completely at ease in front of the camera, so at ease in fact I went from nervous smile to confident smoulder in about 3 clicks of the shutter!

On the wedding day Guy was a rock. He calmed, coached and comforted us and this is credit to his years of experience and natural talent in the field. We felt like we’d known him for years and our guests were amazed by how effortlessly he blended in whilst getting to the heart of the action. His pictures tell the whole story, capturing the mood of those all important moments from preparation to first dance. We were so thrilled with our pictures when we saw them and it came as no surprise that other people loved them too. The comments from the feature on Rock My Wedding are testament to his true professionalism and the Wedding magazine feature speaks for itself!

When we were looking for a photographer for our wedding we started with the recommended list from the reception venue, Gate Street Barn. Guy’s work immediately stood out. We loved the natural, story-telling approach he used, and the emotions seemed to be portrayed perfectly. After meeting with Guy we were sure we had made the right decision. We discussed how we wanted an informal, relaxed day without endless posed photographs and fake smiles and Guy fitted the bill.

On the wedding day Guy was great. He was calm during the prep when everyone else seemed to be panicking, he melted into the background during the ceremony and somehow managed to make the posed couple shots not feel awkward!

Looking at the photographs on our honeymoon was like reliving the day all over again. They are really beautiful. They manage to capture all the special moments we remember but also so many that we missed. The photographs of Matt in the church before I arrived, and the Best Man rehearsing his speech when he thought no one was watching are brilliant.

We can’t wait to receive our album and look at it obsessively!

A few years ago my Dad showed me a photograph of a little girl on a ship’s deck. That was the moment I chose you as my wedding photographer, even though Jim had only just proposed and setting a date wasn’t even on the agenda.

I hoped for a beautiful set of photographs that held their own on your blog (I do realise I’m a nutter!) but I had no idea how fabulous they’d be. Jim sent the link to one person at work and, by the time we returned from honeymoon, everyone in the company had seen them and was stopping him in the corridor to say what an amazing photographer we must have had.

We are SO pleased with the photos, they’re such a perfect reminder of our perfect day. I have no idea how we’re going to choose the ones for the album!

Tom and Melissa – Gate Street Barn

When looking for a wedding photographer we really wanted someone who would not have a lens in our faces all day, so discretion was high on our list! We also wanted someone who would focus less on posey and overly arty shots, but more on capturing those special moments, and Guy did just that for us. Tom and I are both terrible at looking natural when posing for photos, but Guy made us feel very relaxed on the day, joking with us and telling us when we looked cheesy, which inevitably made us laugh and then made for a good photo! We are beyond thrilled with our photos – he got some great shots of Tom and his ushers having a beer at the pub before the wedding, and he was very unobtrusive in the chaos that was my bridal suite in last hour of preparation! The photos of the ceremony are amazing, and although we have the photos to prove that Guy was right up there with us, he was so discreet that I don’t even remember him being there.

We had the best day of our lives and having perfect photos to look back on to remember the day is such an important thing. We didn’t realise how much the photos would mean to us until we saw them.

Guy – thank you so much for capturing the emotion of our ceremony and then all the fun and laughter afterwards. We will relive our wedding over and over again through your beautiful photographs.

We already knew Guy could take some fantastic photos as his blog showcased his work so well, and not just the usual one or two best shots of the day but the full story from getting ready to the speeches. Wow!

My initial thought was to leave it as just that – wow! But we also wanted to say thank you for everything. It is fair to say that not only are you a brilliantly talented photographer but on the day you turned out to not just be our photographer but a therapist, protector of the dress, all round comedian, sun dance legend and a friend. All essential on our big day!

I was always nervous about having a photographer around whilst we were all getting ready but you made sure that it was the most relaxing, enjoyable, fun experience ever.

Just a quick note to say a huge thank you! Having admired your work for a while, we both knew as soon as we had met you that we wanted you to photograph our wedding day and we were delighted when you said you could do it – Basingstoke to Birmingham is not a journey anyone would envy!

We were so surprised to see the sneak peaks before we left for honeymoon and were thrilled to find the DVD with a full set of images on the door mat when we returned. We have been looking at them at least once a day since! We are incredibly pleased with the photographs and we are getting lots of emails from our guests saying how much they love them too.

It was such a lovely welcome home surprise from our honeymoon to find that our wedding photos had arrived on disc. We sat totally mesmerised able to re-live our special day all over again, it was fantastic!

After meeting Guy when a good friend was getting married last year and then seeing the resulting photos, it wasn’t even questioned that we would ask him to photograph our wedding just over a year later.

As with my friends wedding – Guy was everything that we wanted. He was professional but had this amazing skill of being able to make us and all the guests feel comfortable. During the whole day we were kind of aware of him being there but we were also not aware if that makes sense! We didn’t feel pressurised to pose for the perfect shot as we knew he was in the background capturing the atmosphere of the whole day, which he managed with the amazing resulting photos.

We are so happy with the photos he has taken and are really struggling to narrow them down to 60 for the album!!!

Our friends and family haven’t stopped mentioning how great the photos are and have said they really capture the day. One close friend phoned last night to say ‘please can you pass on our gratitude to your amazing wedding photographer for capturing such a fantastic shot of our son on the drums, it is out of this world and a print is going to have pride and place on our wall!’

It is so important to get the best photos you can of your special day as it is those that you will look at for years to come and we can thankfully say thanks to Guy we have images to look at that are better than we could have ever expected

One of the most important parts of planning our wedding was to find a photographer who would effortlessly capture the relaxed and informal wedding we were hoping to create. Staged formal shots by someone who we didn’t engage with just weren’t an option.

Throughout the day so many guests commented to us that they were impressed by your style (photographic!) and how natural it felt to have you there. One even said that it made a nice change to be at a wedding where it wasn’t necessary to play “hide from the photographer”.

Ever the consummate professional, despite the Bank Holiday weekend you sent us a link to the sneak peeks whilst we were still in Singapore. Having seen the stunning photos on your website of the relaxed photogenic couples featured, my nerves kicked in and I steeled myself for great quality shots of a nervous and wooden bride and groom. Instead we were treated to beautiful images of James and I which reflect just how happy we were and how much we enjoyed the day surrounded by friends and family. Like us, our guests are thrilled to have so many superb pictures of the intimate moments which made up our day to choose from as their memento.

“Thank you” doesn’t seem enough for giving us perhaps the best present of all, priceless moments captured and preserved forever to treasure and enjoy.

Just a note to say how incredibly pleased we were with our wedding photographs. You captured the essence of our day perfectly, not only the main events but so many other wonderful moments and little details. We are back – can’t say I’m too thrilled to be sitting at my desk again, but I guess we can’t continue on Cloud Nine forever, sadly…We had a lovely honeymoon in Italy – really relaxing and sunny. It looks from your photos that you enjoyed the Tour de France too!

Our wedding photos are fantastic – thank you so much, we are really pleased with them. That’s particular high praise coming from me since I usually hate every photo of myself – as Alex will be able to vouch for, much to his annoyance!

We’re sorry it has taken us so long to get back to you – we didn’t log on on honeymoon as they charged a fortune for only a few minutes of Internet access and we wanted to savour the photos and take our time looking at them! Thank you so much for getting them to us so quickly and for the DVD, which we looked at as soon as we arrived back!  And we are so glad we waited until we got home, because the surprise that we got when we looked at them really made the wait worthwhile (and I cried so that wouldn’t have been good in the hotel foyer!).

We honestly are so delighted with them, that we can’t even begin to say thank you enough.  They really capture the atmosphere of the day, and it’s so nice for us to see it from a different perspective, rather than just through our own eyes. They are even better than we could have ever imagined and we really will treasure them.  It’s impossible to pick a favourite photo, as they are all so fantastic, so it will take a while for us to decide which to print off to have up in the house (it may have to be all of them)!

On a personal note, we also really enjoyed your company, both when we met beforehand and also on the day – you made it so easy to relax and just act naturally, which really shows in the pictures.  You were such a calming influence, great fun and really just blended in like part of the family – a number of guests commented on how nice, friendly and yet unobtrusive you were.

We cannot have imagined enjoying the whole wedding photograph process so much, but you really have made it a joy from start to finish.  You have been the most professional, kind, fun and talented supplier we have worked with on the wedding. If you ever need any form of reference, or recommendation, please don’t hesitate to ask, although your work speaks for itself!  We will absolutely recommend you to everyone we ever meet who’s getting married!

We said again and again, before, during and after the wedding that you were the supplier that we were most impressed with throughout the whole affair.  We were particularly pleased with your customer service, the fact that you took time out to come all the way to our house for the initial meeting, and picked a fantastic location for our pre wedding shoot – something that we were surprised and delighted was included.  We were also impressed with the speed of delivery of your work; for people to see the sneak peeks the day after the wedding, and to have access to all the photos and the CD by the time we returned from honeymoon was incredible.

Thank you also for being so discreet, a number of the shots we did not even realise that you were in the room, something we were very keen on after having been to other weddings where the photographer was forever rearranging us to capture moments that had already passed!  We have the satisfaction of knowing all our photos are very real, and captured in the heat of the moment.

The quality of your work is also fantastic; a number of people have commented that they are the best wedding photos that they have ever seen.  We just wish we could do it all over again! Thank you once again, we will certainly recommend you to anyone with a wedding coming up.

When Chris and I started making plans for our big day, Chris already had a photographer in mind and showed me Guy’s website. Chris is a very keen photographer himself so I knew he’d be super critical. I was as impressed as Chris had been with what I saw, so we arranged to meet with Guy. We instantly felt at ease with him and we loved his relaxed, informal style and we knew then that we’d ask him to capture our day.

On the day itself Guy was great. He made everyone feel so at ease for the few formal shots that we had, and aside from the odd occasion that we looked up and saw him doing his thing we hardly knew he was there.

We received an email from him whilst on our honeymoon to say the shots were ready – a wonderful surprise as we really weren’t expecting to see anything until we got home… to say we were thrilled is an understatement. The shots are simply stunning. Guy captured the emotions of our day perfectly, and looking through them brought it all back, they made us laugh…and almost had us in tears.

The attention to detail and creativity is superb and the images are beautifully exposed and presented. Guy has raised the standard of wedding photography, not just technically but also in providing us with slideshows for our iPhones, an album that more closely equates to a published book than a photo album, a DVD with all the photos in high resolution for us to use as we like and last, but not least, in customer service that is second to none.

We always knew we could leave our day in Guy’s hands but what we have received has gone far beyond what we could have hoped for. He has captured so many little moments that we may otherwise have missed.

We now have so many happy memories to cherish, we could not be happier.
